Perhaps you are all wondering what is the big deal about this new Nikon D800?
well,I can just sum it very shortly without getting in to too much details, this camera is a must have for any serious or semi serious photographers that are looking for quality within an affordable price point. The very first time I used Nikon D800 for a fashion shoot I was blown away with the great sharpness in details and accurate colors coming out of this non pretentious Camera, and when I took this baby on the road for a little outdoor test shoot in Laguna beach, I was even more impressed with it’s performance in natural lighting. Of course using a great glass like the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II AF-S Nikkor Zoom Lens is also an important factor to maximize the full potential of this little monster
You can see that for yourself in the images below, I shot those bikers from an approximately 40 feet away and when I zoomed in I could still read the very small numbers under No.13 on the license plate, this would have not been possible with any other DSLR cameras of it’s class and as you can see the colors and the details of the images coming out of Nikon D800 can easily compare to some of those expensive brands for fraction of the cost, a perfect camera for all fashion photographers that are looking for convenience of a DSLR camera yet the perfomance of a medium format camera. The only complaint I have is the 4 frames per second which is allot less than what I am used to and also the AF not functioning at times how it should. well I guess for the price one cannot complain too much, but over all Nikon D800 is a great camera for what it is worth. I would highly recommend that to any professional or semi professional photographers that are looking for a ton of mega pixels for around $3000 price point, last time I checked any cameras with around 36 mega pixels ran for at least $30 to $40k
