Shaun Alexander is a top fashion photographer who’s taken a great fashion photograph to a higher level. During his shoots atmosphere is a really important thing to him. It makes the people he works with and himself more creative and relaxed. Even the concentration level will be higher so the results will be exhausting. He is a man of details and he will always keep his energie high so the photoshoot will be worth it from the beginning to the very last end.
He is also a man with patience, because for him is the most important thing to create something amazing all together. As an assistant of Shaun I really can learn so many things from  him. He takes time during the shoots to explain what he is doing and even more important, why. He always want to be sure I get the things he is doing.
I will call him a true artist because his photographs are more than just a photograph, Besides being a top fashion photographer, we can call him a true painter. Inspired by the biggest painters like Rembrandt, van Gogh, Renoir, Monet, he makes his own artwork. Instead of using real brushes he is using light as a main ingredient in his work. With this way of working he is creating almost three dimensional photographs Every piece in the picture will feel like you can really touch it. Every highlight he is using, is used for a reason.
His job in life is to make our world even more beautiful. It gives people confidence, because he shows everyones their true beauty. He knows how to catch everyone’s beauty and still keep the person as they really are

Finding the best Fashion Photographers for a photo shoot can be a demanding task especially after ease of access to digital photography and inexpensive DSLR cameras,  many amateur photographers claim to be professional photographers, when truth of the matter is that 99% of them never had a proper education or training.
NOT ALL PHOTOGRAPHERS ARE CREATED EQUALLY!
Hopefully this article will help you hire the best Fashion Photographer for your next project. Things to consider are:
1-BODY OF WORK AND PORTFOLIO
Make sure you carefully review their portfolio , looking for creativity, style, versatility, technical delivery and lighting
2-EXPERIENCE
Best photographers in the world are the most seasoned ones…trust me on that, Experience matters!
3-ART DIRECTION AND VISION
The photographer’s style and art direction is what sets him and eventually his clients apart from the rest
4-DELIVERING AND EXECUTING THE CLIENT’S VISION
Experienced photographers have the ability to combine their client’s vision and their own artistic style to create a perfect result each and every time
5-HAVING A PERFECT TEAM IS VERY IMPORTANT
Making sure that your photographer has access to a team of hair, Makeup, and fashion stylists, post production and retouching experts that he or she trusts

Shooting on location or studio requires a certain amount of professional gears that will enhance and ensure the best results, lacking those equipment can effect the final look and they are important
8-PERSONALITY
Manners and communication skills to help directing his team and the models as well as working with clients can be crucial, make sure you take your time and talk to your selected photographers prior to hiring them.

Since each photography project can have it’s own challenges, being able to cope with those constantly changing issues require a flexible and creative person
finding a photographer with those qualities can make a a big difference in the overall experience of your project
10-LAST BUT NOT LEAST, LIGHTING, LIGHTING & LIGHTING
How to find a Professional fashion photographer in Los Angeles
WITHOUT A PROPER LIGHTING, NO MATTER HOW BEAUTIFUL THE CLOTHES,  MAKE UP OR THE MODELS…
The final images will not have the same look and impact as the ones that do have the proper lighting techniques. Each style of photography requires certain style of lighting and only a few top photographers in the world can deliver those visually breathtaking images that can help a brand to become instantly famous.
Taking beautiful images can be easy, but taking images that can help a company to become internationally famous take much more than just a good photographer, but a top experienced fashion advertising photographer that can deliver images that are universally appealing and recognizable
Brands such as Guess, Dior, Armani, Versacci, Cavalli, D&G etc…understand the concept of BRANDING and MARKETING through PHOTOGRAPHY
They spend millions of dollars on their ad campaigns, catalogs, lookbooks, magazine ads etc…not because they like to but because they have to stay competitive and on top pf their game in this ruthless world of FASHION and they only trust a few top fashion photographers in the world to deliver the job.

You want to know the truth about shooting fashion shows? Honestly, I don’t shoot them. But I have in the past, especially when I was first started my career as a photographer. The thing is that if you are a fashion photographer, this is going to come up sooner or later and you will be asked as some point to either attend a fashion show or shoot them, or many times you may just be asked by your favorite designer clients or friends to do them a big favor, Or you may really want to head in that direction with your career. But after so many years, I just realized that shooting fashions shows are tedious and very demeaning. Standing around with a bunch of  photographers trying to get the same exact shot as the guy standing next to you is not very creative or exciting, almost like the “paparazzi” photographers
I much rather be sitting in the front row where a respectable fashion photographer should be sitting to enjoy a good view of the latest designs and gorgeous top models  strutting down the runway.
I LOVE fashion design and Fashion shows , but not shooting them!
Not many people know that  I was originally interested and I still am to become a fashion designer before I fell in love with photography. So for me, watching the show is way more fun than shooting it. BUT……..That’s just me! If you are planning on shooting a fashion show in the near future, here’s a few tips and links to some very useful posts and sites on how to go about it…
1.   Cover your behind! Bring an extra camera body for two reasons: A. So you can mount two different lenses to get two different shots of the same outfit. B. Murphy’s Law: if your primary camera for whatever reason on Earth decides not to work at the exact minute the show starts, you can switch to your back up with very minimal stressing out.
2.  Depending on where you’re going to be standing, you’ll want to use a zoom lens with a range from between 24mm to 200mm. This is going to be a rare moment when I am actually going to advise using zoom lenses. They’re just more accommodating for this kind of shoot. Usually they place photographers at the end of the runway. You’ll want to get a full length shot of the model, a 3/4 shot, possibly a turning shot or back shot and hopefully a nice face shot, especially if the model’s wearing some great jewelry pieces or accessories.
3.  Bring a mono-pod. Save your arm. You can also use it as a weapon if one of those other aforementioned photographers gets out of hand. Seriously, I’ve seen it happen. I am only joking, but I’ve seen photographers go at it with their mono-pods. Uh….in my opinion, a fashion show is not really that important to get into a blood bath over.
4. Â Make sure you have one of those on-camera flashes. With back up batteries. You can never count on their lighting set up.
5. Â Bring plenty of memory cards. They fill up fast!
6. Â Why not! Go ahead and shoot in auto-focus. I would.
I found this post on DPS had some really useful tips on shooting fashion shows:
Fashion shows DO have a lot of energy. The music is loud and usually upbeat, the models are fun to watch, the clothes are usually more theatrical and dramatic. Here’s a video
Spring/Summer  2012 Chanel Show
They did things a little different at this show but you can jump on to style.com’s site and check out any number of other designer shows. Personally, I just happen to enjoy watching the shows more than shooting them. But again, that’s just me. To each his own and that’s what makes the world go around! If you have had some experience in shooting runways shows, leave a comment for the other readers. Your input is really welcomed!
New York – Capital city of fashion , where top Fashion photographers and Fashion designers come together in order to shape our society for centuries.
When it comes to fashion and style, non play more important role than the ones determining who wears what!
Fashion designers expressions captured by elaborate fashion campaigns and fed to the mass, which in most cases are recycled ideas of our past translated for the future.
Top fashion photographers have the ability to enhance those ideas by their creative interpretation, some with much more colorful density than others, each telling a story through their lens.
Personally I prefer the black and white photography over color photography, mainly because I prefer the viewer coloring the image in their own mind without anyone’s influence of the colors and the surroundings, allowing them to focus more on the style, photography and the feelings expressed by the photographer.
Many photographers wonder what is the best lighting for beauty or fashion photography? Indoors or outdoors?
Strobes or continuous, incandescent or Fluorescent and I always say it makes no difference what type of lights is available to you as long as you know what to do with it.
In my 30+ years of professional life as a fashion photographer I have tried almost every possible lighting scenarios you can imagine, from a 10 dollar home depot halogen light to a $10.000 studio lights and I must say that I have managed to make some of the most interesting images with the cheapest lights
I still prefer the good old natural light over anything, no other lights can even come close to the most beautiful colors created by mother nature
Especially right before the sunset, or as we photographers call is the Magic hour!
No matter what type of light is going to light up your subject, the most crucial piece to a fantastic photography is your GLASS, by that I mean your lenses, and I have a few favorites, like my fixed 85mm 1.4 or even the 50mm 1.1 which would allow me to shoot in almost any lighting situation
Perhaps it is a good idea to have a small tripod with you at all times if you are planning to shoot at a low shutter and a higher aperture setting
I normally don’t like to go any lower than 1/60th of a second if I am shooting a live subject, but I also like longer exposure for interiors with available indoor lights like shooting inside a mall, or a building.
As you know the longer the exposure the crisper and more defined your none moving subjects going to be, but all of your moving subjects become either blurry, or if the exposure is long enough they will completely disappear from your shots.
The possibilities are endless once you get a better grasp of your lighting as well as your camera’s setting.
Film or digital, photography and photographers are only as good as their imaginations.
Photography has always been my passion and the biggest part of my life, and if anyone asked me for a few pointers, I’d say to them
1-Expand your horizons by looking at great master photographers work 2-Shoot something every day 3-Never settle for mediocre shots 4-Create a great team 5-Think outside of the box 6-Own a few great lenses 7-Make images that you will be proud of 8-Create your own style 9-Be open to challenges 10-And finally, Understand your blacks, whites and mid-tones
and if you do that, you should be in a great shape and have some amazing images
